| The PADI Open Water course is the starting point in your scuba training. It is a fun and exciting course (all of them are, actually) that will give you the basic skills you need to use scuba equipment. The course can be completed in 3-4 days and involves independent study, classroom discussion, and in water training. You can start diving the first day if you like!
Our instructors will help you to feel comfortable in the water, and have FUN! If your time is short, or you are not sure that scuba is right for you, you can try Discover Scuba Diving. A couple hours in the pool for a few basic skills, and then you and your instructor go for a 1 on 1 dive on the reef together. If you enjoy it, the experience counts toward your Open Water Diver or PADI Scuba Diver rating. An Open Water Diver is certified to dive with a buddy, without professional guidence to a depth of 60 ft (20m) in non-overhead environments. Open Water Divers may rent or buy scuba equipment, tanks and obtain tank fills. Most of all, Open Water Divers get to experience the amazing underwater world firsthand. |

On Utila, all dive shops prices are fixed for your safety. Diving activities cost the same in all shops. This prevents price wars which could lead to some shops cutting corners. Here at Coral View, your safety is our primary concern. That is why we participate in Utila's pricing schedule.
